Through the Trees is Thomas Mollo’s first solo exhibition. The paintings are on 300g Fabriano paper and this body of work has taken a year to complete, beginning with small oil studies and progressing to larger format paintings. The work draws on his love of historic landscape painting, both Northern European and Asian, and his growing connection with the Breckland landscape of Norfolk. He uses oil paint and combines this with water based emulsion in some of the works.

“Returning to art in this landscape has allowed me to rediscover the joy of making things, of expressing something deeply personal, and to relearn what it is to feel fully alive. I hope the work does the same for the viewer.”
